Opening Day at the 2005 US Open

Michele, Carol, Jodi and I drove up to NY on Sunday and met Arjen for dinner at Markt near Chelsea Market. The next day we all headed over to Flushing Meadows and the US Tennis Center for the first day of the Open. Here's Arjen at the top of Armstrong Stadium, watching one of the first day upsets! Kuznetsova, last year's champion, going down... (plus I'm playing around with 'imaging' of my digital photos...do you like the b&w sepia tone thing going on??) Also, here's Jodi, Carol and Michele up close at Armstrong Stadium at the beginning of the day.

We're on TV!
Carol, Jody, Michelle, Kathy and I attended the Monday night USTA Member Appreciation Night and also went to the Friday QuarterFinal Session. The match of the day was Andy Roddick and Ivo Karlovic (also shown on ESPN2 as part of the US Open Series). Thanks to my TIVO and my Coolpix, I was able to capture these photos to prove we were on national TV!!! Hey, they are bad quality -- but fun anyway!
