The kitchen reno continues. Now the kitchen island is in place. I bought this 'cabinet' off craigslist ($100) and my Dad did an overhaul for me to turn it into an island! (new top to match my countertop, new castors so that it rolls, and trim it out and painted it the same as my cabinets.) -- Isn't it GRAND!!!!!! It required some re-arranging of furniture, so the buffet that used to be in front of the refrigerator has now been moved to the back wall.
This is Houdini. He flew over to Springbrook HS tennis courts to say hi to us while we were out practicing tennis with Elan. He actually took a dive bomb at Carol -- that's how we noticed him. Recognizing that he was a lovebird (and not a wild bird), we captured him (gently threw a shirt over him and picked him up and he seemed willing enough) and next thing you know -- I have another BIRD at home. The first night with me, he escaped from his cage (clever little guy) so that's how he got his name. Now he routinely 'escapes' every morning when I go to refresh his water dish. He seems to be thriving and is intent on picking on my cockatiels at every chance, nipping at their head feathers every chance he gets.
